BSA International - Company Profile


BSA International Limited (BSA) is a specialist consulting company which is based in New Zealand but carries out assignments internationally.

The company is owned by its partners, all of whom are active practitioners with leading reputations in their fields of expertise.  In addition to the active hands-on involvement of the partners, we have an extensive network of associates and other practitioners in a very wide diversity of disciplines, on whom we draw as appropriate in order to resource the projects we undertake.

BSA's primary area of expertise is in information management, systems and technologies. However, rather than addressing these fields across the spectrum of business and government, we have chosen to focus particularly on the fields of banking and finance (particularly payments systems) and public administration. Our strengths lie in:

  • Assisting organisations to match their business strategies to appropriate systems and technologies in the form of practical information management plans and project specifications;
  • Managing the successful procurement, implementation and operation of information systems;
  • Providing expertise to client organisations on the security of their information and operations. This covers a broad range from corporate compliance issues, through risk management and business continuity management, to information and IT security.

We have undertaken a number of reform projects assisting central banks to modernise their National Payments Systems and IT infrastructures. Our work with these clients includes remaining on-site for the duration of the reform project to provide guidance throughout the entire process.

BSA brings a wide range of expertise to our clients including:

  • Analysis of existing banking practices and design and recommendations for system and procedural changes;
  • Preparation of Bidding Documents to funding agency standards (ADB, World Bank etc.) for systems procurement;
  • Assistance in the analysis of proposals from suppliers, managing the procurement process and assisting with contractual negotiations;
  • Advice and guidance on legal and regulatory issues, using senior legal expertise with extensive experience in central banking worldwide;
